Heavens! It's been more than a month since I last posted anything in this blog. If you must know I have been away on holiday. A luxurious holiday where the day is always bright and beautiful - not necessarily hot. Wish you were here!
I was, of course, with Antonio. If you don't know, Antonio is the love of my bittersweet life.
We've been together oh-so-long. There's the bitter, and there's the sweet. Nver in that order, of course.
So, there we were in one of the most romantic places in the world. And we would be crazy not to have a great time (together) at a great place.
And he behaved. Oh! What am I saying. Of course, he would.
I returned home a few days ago.
Got over my jetlag. Pampered myself at a spa.
After that, called up a couple of girlfriends for an update of everybody's life.
One of the people I called up was my pal, Selena who is a vivacious, attractive single mother, involved with a married man who is a father of three.
How stupid is she?
You know, she is not stupid at all. She is intelligent. But well, yes, so she is so stupid to be involved with this SOB for the past 10 years.
Yet, when she talks about him, she makes him sound like some hunk who was made-in-heaven.
Selena could and can have anyone she wants. But she is so stupid that she has been so stupidly faithful to this SOB.
Oh. I told her so. I told her to leave the SOB who's been nothing but a pain to her.
No. She doesn't think so at all. The SOB whom we shall call Romeo, may seem to be a pain to her in my eyes but he isn't at all, she avers.
She, Selena, is the love of Romeo's life.
Like hell, she is.
So why is he still married, eh?
Anyway, a quick update on Selena and she tells me that she does not trust Romeo.
"You're kidding, right? You trust that bastard all this while even though he is still f----ing married and had another child with his wife while declaring his undying love for you.
You need to have your head and heart examined, girl!" I said to Selena, over the phone the other day.
Well, what happened was, that SOB Romeo has been doing little "innocent" things behind her back.
God! Doesn't that sound familiar.
They're not innocent.
Well, not as bad as when she found about his little fling with this car salesgirl. Exchanging little come-on text messages and emails.
She saw those text messages and emails which were forwarded by this girl to another person whom Selena knows.
I told her to leave him. Much like what I was told when Antonio had his little escapades.
Actually, SOB Romeo, I found out, is a squirrel.
Selena tells me there is a Malay saying about how nobody can be that smart to get away with deception and lies.
Literally, it says that no matter how smart a squirrel is in jumping and climbing, that animal will eventually fall down to earth.
Hah. Not so clever, after all, you little cheating squirrel.
So, is Selena leaving that SOB of a squirrel?
"Oh...maybe. He may not be worth my love, you know.."
Now, you're talking, sista! Now you're talking.

you know you shouldn't be doling that kind of advice to your friend.
You never listen to advice about Antonio. You know, there must be something really good about Romeo. Perhaps, only Selena knows.
She cannot be that stupid. And I doubt she's enjoys sufferring.
If she really is smart and nice, I believe she wouldn't be with a guy who's such a louse.
She probably told you only the bad parts.
Let her make her own decision. She's been with him a decade, for God' sake!

i think sometimes a woman needs a good and sincere friend to tell it as it is.
Her Romeo is still married to boot! Selena loves him almost unreservedly. That is so stupid. No man -- other than your father, brother or son -- should be loved that way.
What has he done for her, except make her feel inadequate sometimes when he starts privately chatting with some babes or broads.
Selena is gorgeous. Romeo knows that too.
true, he loves her. but as with most men, he thinks that's enough.
Eva, Antonio is not married to another. He is mine.
SO there's a difference there between antonio and romeo.
and you know what? when Selena gets wind of Romeo's indiscretion, and asks him about it...well, can you imagine, he tells her thate everyone out there is a liar. so, everyone but him.

Oh. I stopped ending my posting with a "meow" because .... long story.

Ah... what a tricky subject. My close friend who stood by me through thick and thin are doing it for the past 12 years: in love with a married man.
Nothing gets to her head. We even fought about this and it was the first fight in this, I dont know, 15 years of friendship?
But after the fight, she woke me up (we were staying together for many2 years before I got married to J) in the middle of the night and said:
"Hey, are you awake?"
Me: "Well, now I am..."
With teary eyes and heart-wrenching sobs she told me this that tears my heart until now,
"I just want to be loved, like you. Only thing is that I am not as lucky"
"Are we still friends?" She asked amidst her tears and sobs.
I hugged her tight and never speak about the love of her life anymore. I felt like a complete bitch for judging her. Worse, for getting so emotional that we fight for the 1st time!
In my defence, I love her and I dont want her to waste her life on that useless scumbag who pretends to the saviour of the world. Oh, come on, you LOOSER!
All I could do now is pray. She is still more than a friend to me. She s my blood sister.

the point is when two people are in a relationship -- and we're talking about two consenting adults, neither of whom is stupid -- they are in it for many reasons...love, lust, passion....
Selena chose to be with married Romeo for 10 years. That's a fucking long time. Romeo must be quite a guy. Aside from the fact that he is STILL married, what other crime has he committed?
so... i think, if selena chose to be his mistress, then it is her decision. no one else's.

Yes, I've come across wife who 'approve' the husband going around cheating money from love-stricken girls.

oh yes...it takes all sorts to make this world...not necessarily a better place.
Romeo is just as succesful as Selena. They're in the same industry.
I do believe Romeo loves Selena as much as she does him.
But, everythign being equal, Selena has made a lot more sacrifices in theoir relationship.
And i do also beleive that Romeo's wife is aware of their relationship.
why she has not put a stop to it ..well only she and Romeo can answer that.
Selena is not a bitch. neither is she a marriage wrecker.
i do believe, romeo's mariage had long broken down even before Selena entered his life.

This is a very interesting conversation about life which is very real in our modern society. Most opinions put forth are correct be it for or against what Selena is doing. I apoligize up front if what I am going to say is considered as crude. It's the only way I know so please bear with me.
Frankly I would view a person like Romeo as a person who is often in dire financial straits though he is considered as successful as Selena. Being a romeo is an expensive hobby. Large expense is needed to be able to sustain the life of affluence in order to win the hearts of new girls. I believe Selena has been contributing to this in some way or other to buy his loyalty otherwise he will threaten to leave Selena. Though Selena is consenting to this arrangement, she is paying a heavy price for this relationship. For the past 10 yrs this Roemo has been getting free bangs and maybe some loans which is never repaid. His wife may know or maynot know of his exploits. Even if she does know, she, like Selena is helpless about it for fear of being left.
My advice for Selena? Dump him now before she gets more involved financially. A breakup maybe very hard for her initally but at least she will have sympathetic friends like the The Witch and Elviza to share and ease her pain.
That squirrel is not just a squirrel. he is a skunk.

thank you for your perspective. i, however need to straighten some "facts".
actually, romeo has given more things to selena than she has given him things. you know, presents and so forth.
he doesn't live off her at all.
and i know his wife gives him nothing (no presents, not even on his birthday).
in fact, he has been lavish on selena. not that she needs those things. and she has been lavish on him as well.
the thing is, they shower each other with things.
of course, selena will gell me that those things aren't important.
see, she says he LOVES her.
oh....i really don't know men.
you see, romeo does not mistreat selena. he does not fool around. but he does get into this mode of exchanging smses and emails with some babes.
he tells selena they're just friendly messages.
i sppose on the outset it does look like romeo is a skunk.
aaah.... maybe he is!
but then, maybe not.
i'm just waiting to see what selena will do.

I got it all wrong then. The squirrel isn't a skunk at all then. He is just sharing with Selena. What he couldnt get from his wife he gets it from Selena and Selena gets to be loved by him. He must have married the wrong girl but can't bring himself to leave her. Now my personal stand is: Just let them be. If they are happy with that, why not? After all it's happiness that we seek in life. If they are muslims it's they who are going to answer to their god for living in promisquity.

He may love her like crazy, but their relationship is all wrong.
I think, as far as religion is concerned, Islam is not the only religion that frowns upon adultery and living out of wedlock.
To selena: there's more to life than ROMEO! and a "cheating" Romeo!
